Delivering Essential Services to the Gulf Coast’s Industrial Corridor

Boardwalk Louisiana Midstream, LLC (BLM) provides midstream logistics and infrastructure services to petrochemical and industrial customers along the Gulf Coast. With over 300 miles of pipeline and 11 active salt-dome caverns, BLM transports and stores natural gas liquids (NGLs), olefins and brine, supporting one of the most active chemical corridors in the country. 

BLM operates through two primary hubs in southern Louisiana, Choctaw and Sulphur, providing end-to-end pipeline, storage and brine supply services tailored to the needs of the Gulf Coast’s refining and chemical manufacturing sectors.

BLM’s assets serve major industrial markets in the Lake Charles and Baton Rouge industrial corridors. Our pipeline systems are designed to move high-purity feedstocks and finished products reliably and efficiently. Our caverns also offer scalable storage options that support feedstock security and operational flexibility.

Choctaw hub

Plaquemine, Louisiana | Mississippi River Corridor

Located in the heart of southeastern Louisiana’s chemical corridor, the Choctaw Hub is BLM’s largest and most connected midstream complex.

Pipeline & Distribution

  • ~120 miles of common carrier ethylene pipeline
  • Serves 18+ producers and consumers, among the most connected systems in Louisiana
  • Interconnected with Boardwalk Petrochemical’s Evangeline Pipeline and third-party pipelines
  • Links producers from Texas and Lake Charles to customers along the Mississippi River

Underground Storage

  • 6 active salt-dome caverns with over 21 million barrels of liquid storage capacity
  • Product-specific services include: Ethylene, Ethane, EP Mix and CGP
  • Additional cavern development underway for hydrocarbon and brine uses
  • 7.6 Bcf of natural gas storage operated by affiliate Boardwalk Storage Company, LLC

Sulphur hub

Lake Charles, Louisiana | Southwest Louisiana Industrial Market

The Sulphur Hub serves local refineries, petrochemical complexes, and end users with direct pipeline and storage access.

Pipeline & Distribution

  • Ethylene pipeline system supporting producers and consumers in the Lake Charles area
  • Integrated with the Evangeline Pipeline to ensure supply continuity between Texas and Louisiana
  • Connected to third-party systems and local industrial complexes

Underground Storage

  • 5 active salt-dome caverns, providing:
    • Ethylene - 330 million lbs of working capacity
    • Ethane - 4.6 million barrels
    • Propane - 400,000 barrels
  • Scalable services to support evolving industrial demand

Brine supply services

BLM and its predecessor companies have supported Louisiana’s petrochemical sector with brine services for over 85 years. Caverns used for brine extraction may also serve as future hydrocarbon storage sites.

  • Bayou Choctaw salt dome: Legacy source with high-rate brine delivery
  • Napoleonville salt dome: Expanded service area for chlor-alkali producers along the Mississippi River
  • 10 salt-dome caverns and associated infrastructure enable long-term supply and operational flexibility
